My students are on IEP's for a variety of reasons but the one thing they all have in common is they are below grade level in reading. My students are reluctant readers and it is necessary to give them literacy materials needed to gain essential literacy skills to be successful in high school and the job field. I will use these high interest low reader materials to increase their basic reading fluency and reading comprehension skills. The materials selected are designed to grasp the attention and promote reading for all readers. The lower reading level will allow my students who are reading below their current reading level to enjoy age appropriate reading materials while gaining necessary literacy skills.
