Having multiple sensory bags that parents can check out over a one week period will help their child progress with hand and eye coordination, muscle tone, build language skills and continue working on their fine motor skills. A check out system like in a public library will be in place allowing all parents the opportunities to check out 1 of 3 different sensory bags. Having a limited amount of sensory items to share with parents of our Autism population can make it a bit difficult. However, if parents have access to check out bags that mimic materials used in school, the child's progress would be more positive. Bags would contain felt board stories in which the child has a 3D visual and the ability to handle the characters and place them sequentially. This will be the same with magnetic numbers and letters and play-dough with cookie cutters to help with the additional muscle hand building.
