My students and I are asking for tablets to help build our technology learning center. At our centers students are able to explore sites that give them the opportunity to work on learning gaps and enhance new skills. The students would have the chance to flashback on previously taught material as well as flash forward to material that will be taught. Reading and Science are a building block and with gaps in their skills it makes learning new skills difficult, so having the chance to independently work on these gaps will help their confidence level as we move forward through our year. They will be able to use the site that will be beneficial in helping to explain errors that they make. There are step by step explanations that will show them the mistake they made and how to prevent from making the same mistakes. The students will be allowed to use the tables in both learning centers and any free time that they have. Students will also be able to use these tablets to do new research in science questions they ask and download e-books students may want to read that I can not purchase in print right away due to lack of funding.
