Students need to become exposed to computer programs that they may encounter throughout their educational journey as well as when they enter the work force. Within my classroom, we have working computers, but do not have a printer. This makes it a challenge for students to display their work and show their creativity. In the fourth grade we use computer programs to help create cartoon strips on social studies topics, weekly newspapers, autobiographies, and many other creative documents that help students learn the curriculum in creative ways. Allowing students to print out what they have completed helps boost their self-confidence and gives them the opportunity to share their work with others.
