We have talented and creative students that live and breathe Art. Most have big dreams, some have a faint idea but need that push and guidance. I believe this equipment will help open up doors and worlds of possibility for them. I would love for their portfolio to go from, "Hey those are nice drawings and paintings" to "Wow, I could see that being something out of a video game or movie!" My plan is to teach the students through experience how to create digital Art, digital paintings, illustrations, background design, character design, and vehicle design. 9 of the WACOM tablets will be used by students, 2 of the WACOM tablets will be used by myself and the other Art teacher to teach and give examples through the overhead projector while students follow along in the process. That is also where the 2 wireless accessory kits come in. Those will allow us to be mobile as we teach with the tablet and move about the room. The 3 extra stylus pens are just in case we have some stylus go missing or break down. The talent is there, the drive is there, and the need is there. We even have the physical space where this can take place. I'd rather see it become a place of 21st century opportunities not another storage area; because without this, dreams and talent are being put aside. These kids are from an area that hasn't always seen the value of Art and Design, so support isn't always present. This will ignite that flame to pursue a dream, take the road less traveled by, believe in their talents, and explore the opportunities of digital Art and opportunities using traditional skills.
