In the new school year, I aim to increase student engagement, excitement, and ease of technology. I can achieve this by providing each student with the technology tools they need to be successful, such as their very own computer mouse. My second graders are future innovators who deserve access to technology tools that encourage them to reach for the stars no matter their gender, ability, economic status or culture. In our classroom, my students create Google slide presentations, participate in the Hour of Code, and use their computers to enhance every day learning. Students are excited to use technology daily, but can become easily frustrated with the touchpad mouse. I often hear, "It's not working" or "Where am I supposed to click?" The wired mouse will give students the opportunity to navigate their device with ease and confidence. With these new wired mice, my technology saavy second graders will be smiling ear to ear. The books, Grace Hopper: Queen of Computer Code and Hidden Figures: The True Story of Four Black Women and the Space Race will be powerful read alouds that will inspire all students to see themselves as future computer scientists. Thank you for supporting my future STEM innovators!
