Having a variety of literacy activities helps keep students engaged while I meet with small groups for reading instruction. They love writing stories, playing word games, reading big books with a buddy and learning new Spanish vocabulary. Not only do centers allow kids to take charge of their own learning, it also promotes collaboration and problem solving skills. My students love literacy centers; it is probably their favorite part of the day! Please help us build our reading library, big book library, and our word game centers with Magnetic Write & Wipe Big Book Center, I Can Readers, and Build a Story Flip books. By having plenty of materials in both English and Spanish, my students will build a strong foundation towards being truly bilingual.
