The one area my students struggle the most with is Reading and Reading comprehension skills. Having taught for nine years as a first grade teacher and now a Reading Specialist, I know first hand the importance of reading. I'm requesting 6 iPad mini's so that my students can have access to reading via technology. With these iPad mini's, students will be able to listen to stories, read them silently to themselves or practice comprehension skills with confidence. The addition of technology would give my students a much needed boost of practice in the areas of Reading Comprehension as well as increase their interest in reading. Students who are confident in their Reading Skills and Abilities will be ready to face the challenges of higher education.
