As an elementary school general music teacher, I have a LOT of students. My youngest students have just started kindergarten and my fifth grade students are already on their way to middle school. Within any given week, approximately 450 students will pass through my classroom. My goal for my students is music literacy where I encourage students in kindergarten through 5th grade to dive into the vast world of music as a performer, creator, and active listener. My lessons incorporate many hands on opportunities for all ages and learners including Afro-Caribbean drumming, Boomwhackers, ukuleles, and body percussion.
