As you may know, our music students love having our drum set in the music room. The students use it for freeze dance activities, centers, and ensemble work. But...the drums can be loud sometimes in our tiny music room!\r\n\r\nThanks you to your support and generosity, you were able to supply our students with ear protection as well as quieter cymbals and drum heads, so our students can better protect their ears during music class.\r\n\r\nWe love our new quiet drum heads and cymbals that are designed to be quieter, but do not affect the integrity and quality of their sound. As you know, many people have been willing to donate used guitars to help us get our learn-to-play guitar club off the ground and running! However, some of these guitars needed new strings and minor repairs done. We also needed a curriculum based in Dr. Edwin Gordon's Music Learning Theory. This method helps students not only learn to play guitar, but to develop musicianship skills that we help them not just hear and see the music, but to audiate the music as well! You can learn more about it here: https://www.audiate-guitar.com/\r\n\r\nOn a personally, I unfortunately had to have meniscus and ACL surgery on my left knee due to an injury that happened just before the new year. As I type this, I am now 9 weeks post surgery and back at school. Not only did this set back my setting up and repairing the guitars, but also the start of our club.
