The books that I am requesting are desperately needed by the avid readers that visit my library media center each week! One purpose of the school librarian is to help foster and grow a love of reading in our students. The students at my school love to read, but my library is truly lacking in engaging texts. Our district has not provided the library with a budget for a number of years, so the only way we get money for books is through fundraising. Students at my school LOVE to read and learn about historical people, events, and places! In addition to learning about historical topics, our students enjoy learning about current events and people. The Who Was?/Who is?/What was?/What is? books are excellent resources for students. Their engaging covers capture the attention of students and the well-written text holds their attention until the very end! Help me bring these wonderful titles to my students! These books will be used for both recreational reading and for educational activities in the classroom.
