Students will develop a small business and design products in order to support the safety of our school community during this unprecedented time. Any profits made will go to support our school program that promotes employability skills for after graduation. Specifically, the Sharpie pens will be used to create one of a kind safety products made by our class. My students are learning the value of gaining employability skills as well as having had instruction in self-determination (such as decision making, goal setting, and self-advocacy). This project will give them the opportunity to apply and practice those skills. Students have already developed a supply list, designed an original flyer for advertisement, and will create an online order form for our school staff. They have had to think outside of the box in order to make this project possible due to the limitations of having the face to face contact with a potential customer. We thank you for your consideration in supporting this project!
