I am always ready to innovate and add to our pedagogical bag of tricks so to speak ,but it has gotten harder with lack of materials. But I learned that it is more important to focus on purpose and intention. This is why my classroom just needs a few supplies and materials so they can focus more on the lesson's purpose and intention instead of skipping steps because of lack of material. I learned firsthand that both I and my students need a clear purpose. I need to provide and present models or exemplars to my students so they can see what the end result looks like. I can do this with the supplies I am requesting. When my students are provided with materials, ample time and space to be aware of their own knowledge and their own thinking, ownership of learning increases.
