The requested drone and tablet will enable our students to add a whole new dimension to our existing wildlife management plan projects and lab experiences, literally. Currently, our students are only able to survey our wetlands and forested areas on the ground, disturbing wildlife cover and feeding areas and missing patterns of game trails and water flows that are easily seen from the air. These items will enable our wildlife and forestry classes the opportunity to develop overhead and aerial maps of our environmental areas and, when combined with existing GPS programs, create professional management plans. The use of these skills will enable students to better understand the role technology plays in working to improve natural areas and conserve our natural resources.
