Having a class set of the novel Peak will allow my group of students to deeply explore the struggle of overcoming challenges. This novel also identifies other challenges that my students face in their lives such as divorce, having a distant parent, feeling lost within a big city, being a role model, and putting somebody else over yourself. This novel will allow me to explore these issues while traveling with young Peak as he tries to traverse the mighty Everest. Reading Peak will allow the students to escape from the monotony of concrete and buildings, and travel to a place where reaching the top of the world takes precedence over everything else. The question that my students and Peak will have to answer over the course of the novel is - Is it worth it?
