Math manipulatives are a proven pathway to understanding the math concepts we toss around in everyday life. Math is best learned through a more kinetic, more realistic application that the building bricks will allow. English language learners are given another entry point into gaining necessary skills; gaining numerical understanding where word problems may still get them flustered. If they can learn what to do with the numbers through building arrays, then they have broken through the first step of learning math. Different skills will be practiced by different level learners, bringing them a sense of fun that is often lost in a normal school day.
