I teach approximately 130 6th-grade students in science. Our school is located in Daytona Beach, Fl and my students come from the Daytona Beach and Ormond Beach area. As the 6th-grade gifted science teacher, I have 3 classes of advanced and gifted students. My remaining 3 classes are gen-ed and ESE students. The diverse group of students I see each day gives me many challenges in both my classroom lesson planning and management. My students come to me straight out of elementary school and we have to work together to navigate what it means to be middle school students. It is a joy to see my students mature personally and academically throughout the year. I fill their year with fun labs and activities to enhance all of my students learning. My classroom is warm and inviting environment so that my students feel comfortable in my room, with me as their teachers, and with their peers to be their very best selves.
