Most of my students are economically and therefore socially disadvantaged. Most find it difficult to work collaboratively which is a necessary skill for success in life. Providing experiences for students to collaborate on their learning and complete projects together while connecting their learning to their future stories is a goal of mine for the school year. Making learning and collaboration inviting and accessible to my students is a necessity. Providing Big Joe bean bag chairs will help to create an inviting collaborative area where students can learn to problem solve, share their learning, and develop the collaboration skills that they will need to be successful in life. The collaborative area will be used to help facilitate problem solving sessions among students, provide an inviting space for students to learn and share their learning, and offer a flexible seating option for students as they grow as learners. Supporting this project will positively impact the emotional growth and learning of my students.
