Lab experiences at the college level are increasingly focused on the use of technology. Students need to be adept at recording accurate data in a timely manner. This will allow them to focus more time on the analysis of the data than on collecting it. Many labs at the high school level don't mirror this due to the lack of technology. College labs, like the one I currently teach at a local community college, use probes and recording devices such as the Vernier LabQuest2. I would like to bring this technology to my high school classroom to give students more experience with real world science. This will better prepare them for their college science experience and allow them to work with real time data.
