My classroom is a safe space for self-expression, exploration, creation, and fun. Students spend their time enveloped in music from the time they walk in the room to the time they leave. The joy they emanate is infectious, which makes it hard for me to say goodbye each time. I am humbled by these energetic and playful students who make me a better teacher. While each class and grade level is different, play and experiential learning are key to their enjoyment and their successes. These students love to laugh and move, to sing and dance, to tell and hear stories. They listen carefully to music and interpret it through their words and movements. They read music and make it a living thing in their voices and instruments. Spending time making music with them is investing in the creative future of the community.
