Students need proper tools to do their math work. Students cannot use their cell phones as calculators in a classroom setting. Not all students can purchase calculators, so I need Casio fx-260 calculators available for them to borrow. Public Education requires students to have materials they need even if they don't purchase the equipment themselves. Therefore, if I don't have Casio fx-260's for them to borrow, it becomes an equity problem in the classroom. Additionally, students need to know how to use calculators and this gives the opportunity to show proper use of the tools and strategies to succeed in this changing world.
