I am a high school special education math teacher. My school is located in the city of Chicago; most of the students are economically disadvantaged. My students have experienced trauma, poverty, and academic struggles, BUT they come into my classroom everyday to learn and grow in their knowledge of mathematics. Their desire to learn motivates me everyday and pushes me to grow as a teacher.
