Our students will read The Hate U Give, complete a literary essay on the author's purpose while focussing on the imagery and symbolism within the novel. For many of our students, this will be the first book they have ever owned. The students who read the book & complete the essay will be invited to see the movie in the theatre when it comes out. I have seen how falling in love with reading can positively affect my students' attitudes towards learning and reading! This project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word and help them grow!

About my class
