Our school is implementing a new word study program in which students will receive new word sorts each week as they master the different spelling patterns. We will also be creating Student Data Notebooks for each student in the class. The students will be responsible for developing goals for math and reading and periodically tracking their individual progress in each area. Providing each student with their own individual binder will allow them to stay organized and keep all of their materials together in one place versus trying to keep up with everything separately. With your help, I will be able to teach my students the power of setting their own goals, how to be responsible for their learning this year as well make it easier for them to keep track of everything (all while maintaining my own sanity). By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student focus and productivity, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. The binders, dividers, paper, and post-it notes and other supplies will allow the students to actively engage in the activities while creating interactive notebooks full of resources they can use as they grow!
