I have some of the hardest working scholars in Ward 8 of Washington, DC! This year alone, my scholars have outperformed other 3rd grade scholars throughout the city on rigorous achievement interim assessment, setting them on the path towards complete success on the DC-CAS (DC's high-stakes achievement test). Everyday they get their brains stronger and are reminded that they are capable of going to college and realizing their dreams. About 90% of our families that we serve are on the free and reduced price lunch meal program and we also serve a handful of military families as well. Leckie Elementary School is a jewel in Congress Heights community and my 3rd grade scholars definitely know the price of excellence and works hard everyday to not allow their circumstances or situations deter them from college!
