These materials will allow students to show their peers what they have learned and bring life to the art of Ballet Folklorico. The ladies need practice skirts so that they can learn how to combine the feet movement with the skirt movements, and they need the regional costumes to be able to perform. I am requesting folklorico boots and shoes for our performance. All club members need folklorico shoes. These specialty shoes have nails on the bottom heel and toe that add emphasis to dancers' footwork and add to the rhythm of each song. My students need these materials to be able to properly practice and share their hard work with the community. Without the costumes, they cannot perform. I want them to be able to experience what it's like to share a beautiful aspect of Mexican culture with the rest of their school. Having the shoes with the proper attire will make a world of difference, the difference between being a small group that few know about and being a group on campus that people will want to join in order to experience the joy of connecting to Mexican culture through traditional dance.
