For this project, I am asking for four student model violins to be used in my classroom. Students will be assigned an instrument for their own individual use: to use in lessons, group rehearsals, at our concert, and most importantly, to take home to practice. Within our school schedule, orchestra lessons and rehearsals only happen once every six days. For the retention of concepts and musical growth, students must be able to bring an instrument home to practice outside of school. These instruments will have a huge impact on the musical education of these young students. Additionally, these instruments will be added to our elementary district inventory and will benefit the musical education of other students for years to come. They will allow our program to continue to grow at the elementary level, helping continue to providing school instruments to students, that are appropriately sized, student model instruments.
