Experiencing history in the 2nd grade hallway! The second graders of our school will help to transform the grade level hallway into a 3D world that captures the cultures of the Plains Indians, Cherokee Nation, and the Native Creek Indians. The students will create a life size diorama using the supplies that were requested. We are requesting the construction paper, paint, and liquid glue, the brown bulletin to create the background elements for the our grade level hallway. The large tepee, deer statue and Native American costumes, and head dress along with other artifacts will be displayed in the hallway for the students to enjoy. This experience allows the students to relate and re-create a time in history that helped to influence relationships in our nation as well the formation of the state Georgia.Through this experience the students will gain a greater appreciation of the natural resources the were essential to the survival of all the people in this region.
