Theatre students work very hard juggling homework, family, and after school rehearsals. We will be mounting our first production in the fall, and I would like to supply my students with their own makeup kits. Every student in our program would benefit from these kits, as they would increase the quality of productions and decrease the annual fees for all students. My students need make-up kits in various shades ranging from dark, medium, and olive tan to olive fair, tan, and ultra fair to look their best as they take the stage in their first theatrical production. For sanitary reasons, I also want to provide each student with their own brush kits. With all of the requested materials, my students will have an opportunity to learn a new skill, prepare themselves for future performances, and know they look their best under the stage lights when it comes time to take the stage. The makeup we are looking to purchase is professional grade and comes in a variety of shades to work with my very diverse group of student actors. Professional theatre makeup can be a big expense for an actor, and having these makeup kits will be a great learning tool as well as a very functional part of all our productions in the future. I have worked hard the past few years growing a wonderful theatre program, and now I would like to take the expense of professional stage makeup off our students' wish list. The majority of the makeup we currently have does not cater to the diverse group students in our program.
