At my school, because our scholars are very talented, we are looking for avenues to broaden their horizons. We have embarked on learning how to write songs as a project. This project will help scholars unearth their creativity. It will help build their self efficacy and further help them find an avenue to channel their energy in something positive that could serve them well in the near future. The Mini recording studio will help scholars learn the art of recording. The items we chose for donation: the computer, studio monitor speakers, Portastudio, wide screen, and recording bundle will be used so that scholars can put their finished lyrics into a recording. Scholars will use the Portastudio to record their beats, voice, and instrumental tracks. The recording bundle, the Apple mac mini computer, studio monitor pair, and widescreen will be used to record the final mix of the recording done from the Portastudio. The items we have submitted for donations will be invaluable in helping our scholars achieve the goal of first learning about song writing and then recording technology.
