The school district in which I teach has recently moved from paper-based assessments, to computer-based. With this being said, most of my students have no experience with writing an essay on paper and transferring it onto a computer. This is a skill that should be learned at an early age for the ever-changing world we live in. The laptops will support students in being proficient in computerized assessments where typing is required. One of the most important benefits of learning to type is the rapid rate of reading and comprehension.Being able to identify the home-row keys and maneuver through word processing software will allow them to accomplish more in a short period of time.
