My students will benefit from individual carpet squares because they will each know where their personal space on the floor is. Trying to organize the children on the floor with verbal instructions and masking tape markers has been confusing, to say the least. By providing personal space for each student, they will be able to experience our learning activities with fewer distractions! Even though it is only a few minutes each time we meet on the floor, I spend instructional time everyday reviewing how and where to sit on the floor. Eight minutes a day, times 5 days is 40 minutes per week of ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONAL TIME for my kiddos if we had these carpet squares! How cool is that??
