My students will use the totes and book bins to keep what they are reading during independent reading time easily organized. The bin colors correspond to their table colors. The book totes can be reused year after year for each student to put in the bins. Students will feel more empowered and motivated to read managing their own self-selected books at their level. I will be pulling small reading groups as they read independently. Funding this project will help my students fulfill their goal of being able to read in first grade!
