My students have a wide range of skills and abilities. A classroom library with varied books allows each student to feel ownership in our learning space. Often, my students feel defeated. However, a well-stocked class library helps students select books at their level, build confidence, and develop a love of reading. Some students struggle with speaking verbally. A diverse library with graphic novels, audiobooks, and other formats helps them access stories in ways that work best for them. Our class schedule changes throughout the day. Having our class library accessible anytime allows students to grab a book during transitions or independent reading time and engage with text at our own pace.
