This is a classroom of 15 bright, motivated second grade learners! These kids participate in our school district's gifted program, so they come to our building from all over the city. Because our program is fast moving, and highly enriched, we have unique needs for teaching materials. In addition to advanced levels of language arts, science, and math instruction, we have a major emphasis on Social and Emotional Learning and Habits of Mind to help these bright children become amazing citizens and leaders. For part of the day I instruct a class of 3rd graders in 4th grade math, while my students move to a room at their own math level. As this is my first year of teaching 4th grade math, I need challenging games and activities on this level to help them build their skills and provide enrichment beyond our textbook curriculum. I hope to create a dynamic math workshop for my students.
