Flexible seating has become increasingly popular in elementary classrooms because it allows teachers to meet their students' individual needs. The freedom to move and fidget is essential for some student's success, while others need to be stationary. Stand-up desks allow children to move from sitting to standing (or the reverse) as needed; this opportunity to recognize and act on cues from their body leads to maximized potential for learning. Stand-up desks would make a tremendous difference for several students in our classroom, especially for those who struggle to maintain focus while sitting in traditional desks. Providing students with stand-up desks is a small thing that makes a huge difference. Please help us make this a reality in our classroom.
