Having the ability to include classical literature in my classroom will introduce my students to ideas about the world, unknown to them because of the secluded area they live in. Shel Silverstein books will be a great addition to my classroom library, along with Time Magazines to show students other parts of the world! Living in this culture involves learning through visual experiences. My students are visual learners who would benefit from demonstrations shown through the document camera. Being located in Rural Alaska, it is difficult to run to the store and get general classroom supplies. Helping to supply the classroom with scissors, dry erase markers, and organizational bins will help make materials more accessible to the students.
