I have a group of kindergarteners that are wonderful. They are silly and sweet and everything they should be at age 5; eager to learn, desperate to be friends, and happy to please. Despite the hardships they face in their every day lives, they come to me with bright and cheerful faces most days and are exactly what a teacher needs to be reminded why they became a teacher. I moved into a classroom this year that is pretty beat up and run down. My administration is trying to get everything fixed for me but these things take time. I spent so much time and money making my classroom into a bright and cheerful environment anyone would love to come be part of. My room is a place of hard work and tough love. Even though they are only 5 and in their first year of schooling, I expect a lot from my little ones and they give it. I do all I can to make sure their effort is rewarded and that they feel happy, safe, and loved.
