My students need a variety of things, namely classpacks of crayons and Glue Sticks, four Connect and Store Book Bins and audio books, such as The Giving Tree, Charlotte's Web and Beezus and Ramona Cd. The school year has already started, but we still need these additional resources, plus a class subscription to Scholastic News. These materials will help enhance the learning occurring in the classroom. With a small school budget, there isn't much room to get new things for the students, many of which are worn and outdated. Reading is a focus at our school. With audiobooks, lower students can listen to the text being read to them while following along, while higher students can just enjoy a story being read to them. Scholastic News brings fresh and exciting stories to read into the classroom with current events that the students may not see anywhere else. Supplies go fast in the classroom. We are a very hands on classroom, doing lots of coloring and gluing. Manipulatives will strengthen our math skills, giving us real hands-on pracitice.
