I am requesting an Apple MacBook for my kindergarten students. I use four computers in my classroom on a daily basis for intervention and testing. It will be great to have a mobile laptop for them because it will enable them to get exposure to other fun websites and programs that are very engaging in their learning, as well. My students use will the Apple MacBook daily at literacy and math center time. Using the MacBook will allow my students to work independently on important skills while I differentiate instruction to meet the needs of the diverse learners in my class. Some of the apps I would like to use (I would have to try them out first) would including AlphabetFun, Read, trace words, Count and write numbers, read books for advanced readers (not sure what’s available yet, but I have several kids currently reading well above my advanced leveled readers.) Students could also interact with webpages, abc, PocketPhonics for letter sounds and writing, See Read Say (sight word practice), and iWriteWords (Handwriting Game). As you can see, we will benefit greatly in our classroom with the use of the Apple MacBook.
