My students will use these items for a variety of classroom activities. We need Molecular Model Kits. Students will build carbohydrates, proteins and lipids to understand how they are built and how they are combined within the body. They will also use the kits to model how enzymes work and look at how denaturing affects the functionality of a protein. These models will also be used to have students build and model the processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. In all, these molecular kits will be used by 90+ students for over three weeks of class time. These kits will allow students to have a hands-on experience for multiple complex biological processes and for one of the most challenging units in our current curriculum. Students will be amazed as they learn about these incredible molecules and how they affect their day-to-day lives. Students learn better with a hands-on experience and will be more successful in subsequent classes due to their strong understanding of chemistry.
