Students need movement during classroom learning. Sitting on these stability balls have shown to increase engagement in the lessons and help students focus. I have 6 classes of 5th grade Science and Social Studies. Each class has 27-30 students. We are in a block schedule so they do not have PE two days each week. They get tired of sitting in the hard desk or on the hard floor. These flexible seating options will help them become healthier. It will also make them excited about class because it's also "fun" to sit on. Flexible seating is a growing trend because of the benefits it has shown!
