After going to a three day workshop put on by two of the leading educators in the field, Penny Kittle and Kelly Gallagher, I’m convinced my kids need to write every day. Organization is not middle school students best attribute. I need for each of my students to have their own book to write in! Some days our prompts will be from a picture, others from a poem. Some days we might read a quick picture book and discuss an element of plot, some days we might write about song lyrics or a line from Shakespeare. Every day will be different.
