Students in lower elementary have a greater chance of excelling when they are exposed to hands-on learning experiences. As an interventionist, it is rewarding to see students become confident, lifelong learners. In every lesson taught, students are actively engaged. We practice writing and spelling words in shaving cream. We use letter tiles and magnetic letters to build and create words. Word games are played to build fluency in reading. Students create stories and books based upon characters in the stories read. They become the main characters in their writing! Struggling students just need a burst of confidence. Engaging, hands-on experiences provide them with the needed confidence. Once they are exposed to the learning strategies that will propel them forward, they soar! My goal is to encourage students to love reading. Reading opens doors to a world of possibilities. Through reading, dreams are fulfilled. I would love for you to assist me in growing the minds and hearts of my students!
