Being a Title I school and in a low-socioeconomic neighborhood, teachers at my school face a variety of daily challenges. Even though these students have a great deal of difficulties at home, they are able to come to a safe and inviting environment. Ninety-one percent of our population is Hispanic and about ninety-seven percent are on free or reduced-price lunch. We support almost half of the population by providing English Language Development classrooms in every grade level and about a quarter of the population with three wonderful Specific Learning Disability teachers.
