A highly effective literacy classroom provides students with high interest and engaging texts! As a part of my literacy block I implement leveled guided reading groups, literature circles, which involve in depth student led discussions about their books, and independent reading centers, all of which need leveled collections of highly engaging leveled chapter books for my students to access and dive in to. Many students do not have any books at home so this would also provide them with the opportunity to participate in weekly classroom book borrowing! My students are very motivated readers and are so excited to begin!
