Our new Modern Design class is growing in interest among our students. Modern design is a combination 3D design and woodshop 101. Our Facilities are fantastic for a school our size, but there is much room for growth in our tool repertoire, particularly hand tools. I would like to build ten small tool kits for each student enrolled in Modern Design. Each tool kit would consist of wood chisels, a wheel marking gauge, a detail hand saw, a bevel gauge, and a small block plane. These tools have a myriad of uses. The most common would be cutting traditional dovetail joints. Simple mortise and tenon joinery can also cut with these. There are multiple sculptural uses as well. It's the basics for woodworking.
