Learning is an active process! My students are healthy, active nine and ten year olds. They are currently consistently tipping backwards on their traditional chairs, balancing on their knees, and contorting their body as they try to get comfortable in their traditional desk chairs. All of which are unsafe behaviors! We are in need of alternate seating that will allow them to move safely while learning. Research has proven that movement in the classroom stimulates the brain, allows for increased stamina, and increases enjoyment in learning. The exercise balls and Wobble stools will allow students to safely bounce, roll, and move as they work hard to grow academically, socially, and emotionally in our classroom. Importantly, they are lightweight so students can easily move them around the room as they work in small-groups, independently, and with partners. Alternate seating benefits all students and will be an invaluable addition to our classroom environment. Please help us to add safe, alternate seating to our classroom community!
