I work in a juvenile detention center in Anniston, Alabama. Most assume we do not even have a regular class setup and, in one area, they would be correct. I have had as young as fourth grade and as old as first year of junior college all in the same classroom... at the same time. It just depends on the youths that have committed criminal offenses at the time and I never know what that mix will be until an hour before classes start. To say my population is very fluid would be an understatement. We are often overlooked on many levels and funding is no exception. Nevertheless, we work tirelessly to ensure our students still get the best education we can provide them even with our limited resources. Any project you help fund will go towards helping us provide an alternative to the criminal choices they were making that brought them to us in the first place. Please help us make this goal a reality. Thank you. :)
