A listening center in my classroom will give my students a calm place to practice listening and comprehension skills, while listening to classic stories. Each day they will have the chance to listening to a cd and follow along with a book. My students will gain confidence in their reading ability. They take great pleasure in listening to stories, and the terrific books on cds. Hearing a book on cd will help students see how the words on the page can come alive in a fluid, expressive way.
